Bhubaneswar: On directions of DCP Bhubaneswar, an Inspector-in-Charge of Balipatna police station, Krupasindhu Barada has registered an FIR against himself and a Sub-Inspector, Rakesh Samal, at the same place where they are posted.
The incident relates to the alleged assault on a tribal youth named Suraj Kumar Bhoi, who was picked up by the police and beaten up, as per the latter’s complaint. “I was thrashed by the IIC, the SI, and other staff at the police station,” he said.
According to the victim, he was taken to the hospital with severe injuries on back, a fractured leg, and broken tooth, the next day from the lock-up.
According to reports, taking cognisance of the matter, DCP Prateek Singh has asked the IIC Barada to book himself and the SI in this matter.
