Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of tribals armed with traditional weapons tried to break into the District Collector’s office in Bolangir today. They demanded action against the District Civil Supplies Officer (CSO), who allegedly sexually harassed a tribal girl working in his office.
While a complaint was lodged with local police and an FIR registered, the tribal people alleged that the cops were not taking action against the CSO. The protesters demanded immediate action against the CSO threatening to take law into their own hands.
“The case is one and a half months old but no action has been taken. We are forced to protest because of police inaction demanding justice for one of our daughters,” the protesters said.
