Keonjhar: A truck driver allegedly beat a shopkeeper to death following an argument at Nuagaon chowk under Ramachandrapur police limits in Keonjhar district on Monday.
Reportedly, the deceased identified as Dilip Behera has a shop at Nuagaon chowk. Yesterday, a truck had arrived for some repairing at a garage situated near his shop.
An argument had broken out between the truck driver and Behera over some trivial issue. Subsequently, the truck driver brought the jack rod of his vehicle and hit Behera on the head.
Following it, the truck driver fled from the spot and Behera was rushed by locals to Anandpur Sub-Divisional Hospital. He was being shifted to Cuttack when he died on the way.
