Dhenkanal: A truck driver was found dead with blood and injury marks on the body at a sand quarry in Nagena, under the Banasingh panchayat in Dhenkanal Sadar police station limits in Dhenkanal.
The deceased truck driver, Rudra Naik, was found dead, prompting his family to file a murder complaint. Family members said he had left the house around 11 pm the previous night and didn’t respond to calls. The police have reached the spot and are conducting an investigation. A JCB machine driver has been detained.
The deceased’s wife said, “He came to the sand quarry last night at 11 pm and was unreachable after that. In the morning, I received the news. My three children have become orphans. How can I survive with my small children?” She alleged that the JCB driver was involved in the murder.
A relative alleged, “The police didn’t take our complaint seriously. They are acting on the complaint of the quarry contractor. Neither the quarry contractor nor the JCB driver has come to the spot yet. We suspect they are all involved in it.”
