Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a truck driver was killed after the truck fell off a bridge at Simulia, Balasore district on Monday morning.
According to sources, the accident took place after the driver lost control of an overloaded truck carrying papayas.
The truck was en-routed from Andra Pradesh to Patna when it fell off a bridge on NH-16 near Simulia, Balasore.
The driver was instantly killed after being stuck inside the truck’s cabin, which was completely damaged by the accident.
The local police have identified the deceased trucker as Srinivas Rao Mandal of Guntur, Andra Pradesh.
Temporary traffic congestion was experienced at the Simulia road on Sunday morning.
Police have initiated an investigation of the matter.
