Angul: The movement of coal from the collieries in Talcher and Kaniha in Odisha’s Angul district came to a halt on Wednesday owing to the truck strike in the region. Transportation of coal has been affected in the region since November 9 when the truck owners’ federation stopped plying their vehicles demanding higher fares.
On Wednesday, the agitating truck owners obstructed the transportation of coal from the collieries even by train.
As the talks with the local authorities and colliery management have failed to yield any result, the truck owners have threatened to intensify their stir until their demands are conceded.
