Balasore: Two persons were killed and two others critically injured when a truck transporting chickens from Kolkata to Khurda rammed against a stationary Hyva truck on National Highway No. 16 near Soro College Chhak on Friday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Ashraf Sadar and Saiful Ghazi and from West Bengal. At the same time, the two injured Alam Gir and Saif Sardar and are undergoing treatment at Soro Hospital.
According to reports, the fateful truck rammed into the rear of the Hyva as the truck driver lost control of the wheels this morning. The Hyva truck was parked near Soro College. The driver of the truck fled the spot soon after the mishap.
On being informed, personnel from the Soro Fire Services reached the spot and rescued the injured with the help of local people. After they were rushed to the Soro Hospital, doctors declared Saiful Ghazi and Ashraf Sadar ‘brought dead’.
