Bolangir: In a concerning incident, a woman underwent a tubectomy procedure and suffered complications due to an accidental bruise to her food pipe. The incident has been reported from Titilagarh Maternity and Child Hospital (MCH) Hospital, where Anita Tandi, a resident of Dukerchhara village in Saintala block, was admitted for the procedure.
According to reports, the doctor informed the family that the food pipe (oesophagus) was accidentally bruised during the operation. The doctor attributed the complication to the patient coughing during the procedure, which caused the blade to slightly touch and cut the food pipe.
Due to the complication, the patient was shifted to Balangir Hospital for further observation and treatment. The doctor assured that the patient’s condition is currently stable. However, when approached for a statement, the doctor declined to comment on the incident.
