Balangir: The Station Master of Turekela Railway Station in Kantabanji of Balangir district has been arrested by the forest department for his involvement in illegal timber logging.
Reportedly, the forest staff of Kantabanji Range had conducted a raid on the official quarters of Turekela Station Master Dharmendra Kashyap on May 13 and recovered several logs of timber.
Two carpenters had been arrested in this connection and a probe was initiated by the forest department. Finally, Kashyap was arrested on Monday for carrying out illegal timber logging at his government quarters.
He was subsequently sent to jail after his bail plea was rejected.
