Tusker Kills Four Farmers In Odisha

Balangir: Four farmers died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Balangir and Bargarh districts of Odisha on Wednesday.

A farmer identified as Biranchi Sahu (55) was attacked by the tusker at Darlipali under Loisingha Forest Range of Balangir district today morning.

Sahu had gone to his farm to collect mangoes when the elephant who had entered the village from Gaisilet area of Bargarh district attacked him.

The tusker trampled Sahu to death following which villagers and family members have demanded the government to pay compensation.

As per sources, the elephant had killed three farmers in Gaisilet Range of Bargarh district. The deceased persons were identified as Mala Seth (54) and Biranchi Kumbhar (56) of Umrad village and Siba Seth (60) of Nathpali village.
