Bhubaneswar: A tusker was rescued after it fell into an uncovered well in Goladaru village under Nuaon block in Sundargarh district.
The forest department, aided by JCB machines, dug out a slope to help the elephant escape.
As per reports, the elephant had been causing trouble in the area, entering villages and damaging crops. The elephant fell into the well while villagers were chasing it away. With the help of a JCB and police, Forest department personnel rescued the elephant successfully.
