Khurda: In yet another man-elephant conflict, a tusker trampled a woman to death at Panbarj village in the Khurda range. The deceased woman was identified as Kiranbala Mandhata.
According to reports, as usual, Kiranbala was out early morning on Monday to pluck flowers. While she was busy plucking flowers, an elephant attacked her and eventually trampled her to death.
Another person, Vikram of Tangiyapada village in the district was admitted to Khurda Medical Center after being attacked by an elephant while standing on the street.
On being informed, the Forest department and police personnel reached the spot and drove the elephant away to a nearby forest. Kiranbala’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
