Tuskers Injure One More Person In Sundergarh’s Bonai

Sundergarh: The two tuskers that have entered the Bonai forest range in Sundergarh district after getting separated from their herd attacked another person on Tuesday.

Reportedly, the tuskers had been wreaking havoc in the area by destroying crops for the last 15 days. The situation worsened as they attacked a young girl near Dareikela yesterday.

While the injured girl is presently undergoing treatment at Rourkela hospital, an elderly woman was attacked by the elephants today when she was washing the dishes outside her house at Kantasara village. She has been hospitalised.

As forest department officials have failed to ward off the elephants, locals have demanded to engage a special team for the purpose.
