**Bhubaneswar: ** Following simultaneous special drive on the instruction of Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty for execution of non-bailable warrants (NBWs) and for prosecution of habitual offenders under Section 110 of CrPC for smooth passage of upcoming Durga Puja, 143 NBWs have been disposed of while 53 habitual offenders/criminals booked.
The simultaneous special was launched in all the police stations of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities from September 23 to September 29.
As per a press note released by the Commissionerate of Police headquarters here today, “During the special drive 64 NBWs (Bhubaneswar UPD-42, Cuttack UPD-22) were executed and 79 NBWs (Bhubaneswar UPD-36, Cuttack UPD-43) were otherwise disposed of. Thus in all 143 non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) were disposed of. 53 habitual offenders/criminals were booked u/s 110 CrPC (Bhubaneswar UPD-34, Cuttack UPD-19).”
It further informed that Quick Action Team (QAT) conducted raid under Mancheswar PS case no. 480/18, 481/18 under Excise Act, detained 2 persons, seized 187 bottles of IMFL and cash of Rs 18,600.
“Commissioner of Police is monitoring the progress of drive on daily morning during VHF conference and appreciated the result of drive and directed all Inspectors-in-charge (IICs) of police stations, Zonal ACPs and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCPs) of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to continue the drive till the puja is over,” stated the press note.
