Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police has arrested 34 persons in connection with the brawl at a bar here on Saturday night. The youths had allegedly teamed up at the bar and vandalised the premises late in the night after the property was closed.
According to reports, an argument between two youths and bouncers at the bar triggered the tension. The matter escalated when the drunk youths called their associates for help. The duo allegedly demanded to be served liquor after closure time, and the bouncers intervened.
At least 30 miscreants showed up at the bar on a bus and vandalised it. Police acted on a complaint lodged by the owner of the bar and launched a manhunt for the miscreants. They were picked up today from Gopalpur area in Cuttack.
As many as 34 persons identified through CCTV footage and investigation have been booked and forwarded to the court. Further investigation is underway.
