Berhampur: Police on Tuesday night arrested two anti-social youths from near the Income Tax office at Ambapua on the outskirts of Berhampur city.
Police have seized two country-made pistols, six rounds of ammunition and one motorcycle from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Kanehi Sethi and Kalia Reddy of Khandia Sahi of Ambapua.
“Berhampur police had received information that two anti-social persons having several cases against their names were planning to attack one person and had collected illegal weapons. A raid was conducted following which two pistols and six rounds of live ammunition were seized from them,” informed Berhampur SP Shravan Vivek M addressing a presser here today.
They have been identified as Kanhei Sethi and Kalia Reddy of Ambapua, Vivek M added.
The SP said that Kalia Reddy has nine cases pending against him at Gopalpur police station and Kanhei Sethi who was staying at Hoogly in West Bengal has a murder case pending against him there.
Sethi after being released on bail in the murder case had fled from Hoogly and was staying here, he added.
