Bhubaneswar: Police on Saturday arrested two persons and seized 28 grams of brown sugar during a vehicle check near Gurujanga on NH-5 in Khordha district.
According to Khordha SDPO Nihar Ranjan Pradhan, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Khordha SP Vivekanand Sharma as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the district, particularly in the Khordha sub-division.
“The operation followed a tip-off about illegal drug activity. Acting on the information, Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Basanta Kumar Patnaik and his team intercepted the vehicle. Police recovered 28 grams of brown sugar, one motorcycle, and two mobile phones from the accused,” Pradhan said while briefing the media.
The two accused have been taken into custody and are scheduled to be produced in court today.
