Bhubaneswar: Rajgangpur police in Sundergarh district have arrested three persons including a minor in connection with the murder of a person which took place on December 26.
The incident was reported to Rajgangpur police at around 2 pm on December 26 when a man’s body was found near a stone quarry in Ramalata village. The deceased was identified as Gopal Krushna Mahakud of Berhampur who was staying in Koelnagar area of Rourkela.
Police have seized an iron rod which was used to commit the murder and white car used by the accused. “The accused have been booked on murder charges and sent in judicial custody. The juvenile has been forwarded to CCL (Children in Conflict with Law) home,” the police said.
Sundergarh police had setup a special team to probe the case which was a blind one, said a senior police official. Following apprehension of the accused the crime scene was recreated in the presence of the trio. “A dedicated cyber team was deployed to Rajgangpur police station for going through the technical inputs which led to detection of the case. The motive behind the murder has been ascertained as a monetary transaction and a loan,” the official added.
