Cuttack: The Chauliaganj police have arrested two youths, Saurabh Kumar Sahu and Gautam Lenka, both residents of Mahanadi Vihar, on charges of engaging in anti-national activities by shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans.
The incident occurred on May 15 near Gandhipalli Gada on the banks of the Mahanadi River.
According to the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police, Saurabh allegedly raised the slogans while Gautam recorded the act on his mobile phone. The video was deliberately shared on social media platforms, where it quickly went viral, triggering public outrage. During the investigation, police seized two mobile phones believed to have been used in the incident.
Police further revealed that Saurabh has two previous cases registered against him at the Chauliaganj police station. Police stated that the actions of the accused were aimed at disturbing communal harmony and inciting unrest in the Cuttack region.
Further investigations into the matter are currently underway.
