Bhubaneswar: In a gruesome incident, two brothers were allegedly killed and their bodies set on fire in the forest under Beguniapada police station in Ganjam. The deceased were identified as Sanjay Barik and Ajay Barik from Sumandal village.
According to reports, the brothers had been involved in multiple criminal cases and had recently been released from jail after being acquitted in a murder case related to the former block chairperson.
The police recovered the half-burnt bodies near Merainga village under Khallikote police station. It is suspected that the brothers were killed in the Beguniapada forest and their bodies were later dumped near Merainga village and set ablaze.
The police believe that the murder was committed due to previous enmity and have started an investigation into the matter. The authorities are trying to determine the motive behind the brutal killing and identify the perpetrators.
