Puri: Fire Brigade personnel recovered the bodies of two youths who drowned while taking a bath in Narendra Pond in Puri, on Tuesday.
According to sources, the deceased have been identified as Rajakiran Satpathy of Kukudakhandi and Nalinikant Tripathy of Ichhapuram. They were cousin in relations. They had come to Puri to attend the tenth-day death ritual of a relative and were taking baths in the pond as part of the ritual.
Seeing them drowning, the relatives of Rajakiran and Nalinikant alerted fire brigade officials who rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. By the time, they were rescued and rushed to the hospital, where they were declared dead by doctors.
