Dhenkanal: Two labourers sustained severe burn injuries on Monday after coming in contact with an 11-KV electric wire while working on the roof. The incident took place in Aluajharan village under Tumusinga police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
The injured labourers were identified as Jagga Mallik and Babuli Mallik.
According to reports, Jagga and Babuli were tying iron rods on the roof of one Narayan Sahu’s under-construction house this morning when they came in contact with the 11-KV high-tension electric wire that passed above the roof.
Hearing their cries for help, local people rushed the two critically injured labourers to Kamakshanagar Medical Center. Later, they were shifted to the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) as their condition deteriorated. The condition of both is said to be critical.
