Cuttack: In a horrific road accident, two youths were burnt to death after the motorcycle they were riding caught fire following a mishap on the Cuttack-Paradip road at around 2.00 am on Tuesday. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
According to reports, the accident occurred near the Kandarpur toll gate. The accident occurred when the two motorcycle riders were going from Tritol in Jagatsinghpur district to Paradip via Cuttack and hit a concrete mixer parked beside the road.
The duo sustained critical injuries after the bike caught fire due to the collision with the concrete mixer. As the two were trapped under the burning motorbike, they were unable to escape the fire. On being informed, Kandarpur police reached to spot and rushed the injured to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where the doctors declared them ‘brought dead’.
The police seized the bike and concrete mixer and are conducting an investigation into the matter.
