Two Class VI Students Meet Watery Grave In Kendrapara

Bhubaneswar: Two minor boys drowned in a pond at Bandhakuda village under Mahakalapada block In Kendrapara district.

The victims, identified as Durga Prasad Mahapatra and Dipanshu Mahapatra, both Class VI students, had gone to play after tuition classes on Tuesday evening.

When they failed to return home, their family members and villagers launched a search operation. The bodies of the two boys were later found floating in the pond.

They were rescued from the pond and taken to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead.

The incident has cast a pall of gloom in the village, with the family members and locals mourning the loss of the two young lives.
