Berhampur/Koraput: Two couples committed suicide in separate incidents at Berhampur and Narayanpatna during the last 24 hours.
The first case was reported from Samantrapur village under Jarada police limits. The boy and the girl in this case were from the same village.
It was the boy who committed suicide by hanging from a tree on Monday evening. On hearing this news, his girlfriend adopted similar method to end her life.
Jarada police have sent the bodies for autopsy and registered a case in this connection.
A similar report came from Dum Sil village in Narayanpatna block of Koraput district. The lovebirds consumed pesticide to end their lives. Police have registered a case in this matter and investigating further.
