Khordha: Two persons were critically injured in firecracker explosion on Tuesday at Zainabad village under Balipatna police limits in Khordha district.
The identities of the injured persons have not been established.
According to reports, the explosion occurred while these persons were making firecrackers. Huge quantity of crackers has been destroyed in the blast.
Sound of the explosion was so loud that villagers ran out of their houses in panic towards the river embankment.
The injured persons have been hospitalized.
On being informed, police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot. While efforts were underway to douse the blaze, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
