Bolangir: Two employees of Badmal Ordnance Factory under the Saintala police station limit in Odisha’s Bolangir district sustained critical injuries following an explosion in the factory on Friday.
According to reports, the explosion occurred when work was in progress in the factory’s Unit No. 2. A fire suddenly broke out in the store where the explosive powder was kept. The sound of the explosion was so loud that people in the neighbouring area were rattled.
The injured employees have been identified as Gautam Mahanand of Barahmal village under Saitola police station limits and Saroj Panda. Sources in the factory said that the bodies of the two injured employees were severely burnt in the mishap.
Initially, the injured were rushed to a local medical facility, but later they were shifted to Rourkela when their condition worsened.
