Two-Day Rainfall Alert For Odisha: Heavy To Very Heavy Downpour Expected

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded heavy to very heavy rainfall warnings for Odisha, forecasting a spell of intense downpour in several districts across the state for the upcoming two days.

With orange and yellow alerts in place, residents in affected areas are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions as heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected to lash the region in the next two days.

According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, and Kendrapara on August 25. An orange warning has been issued for these districts, indicating that residents should be prepared for heavy rainfall.

On August 26, the orange warning has been extended to the Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected.

In addition, a yellow warning has been issued for several districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Boudh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur on August 25. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places in these districts.

The yellow warning has also been extended to August 26 for districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.

On August 27, a yellow warning has been issued for the Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts, with heavy rainfall expected.
