Keonjhar: Two persons were killed as lightning struck in Baharipur village of Samana panchayat under Nandipada police limits.
The deceased were identified as Nrusingha Jena and Kanhu Jena both belonged to Baharipur village under Hatadihi block here.
According to reports, lightning hit the duo when Kanhu and Nrusingha were heading to a field for work. They collapsed on the spot. The two were rescued and rushed to a local hospital by neighbours.
The duo was declared dead in the hospital. Police have registered a case and sent the bodies for autopsy.
