Cuttack: Angry people set fire to the truck on the road near Baideswar police station at Purunapani in Banki on Saturday morning.
According to the locals, the truck was transporting beef illegally, and was stopped by them last night. Two drivers and a trader were detained by the locals in this connection.
Palpable tension prevailed at the site following this incident. Police have been deployed to avert further escalation of the situation.
