Two Drown While Bathing In River Brahmani In Jajpur

Jajpur: In a tragic incident, two youths drowned in river Brahmani while taking bath at Gokarenswar Ghat near Jaraka under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Govind Rana of Deoda in Dharmasala and Soumya Ranjan Maharana of Kumari near Jaraka. Both are two friends.

The youths went to the river ghat for bathing after finishing work. They slipped into the deep water while swimming and drowned.

Local people informed the fire brigade and swung into action to rescue them. Before the arrival of the fire services team, locals rescued them and admitted them to Dharmasala Community Health centre. However, doctors declared the duo dead.

Dharmasala police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
