Jajpur: Two persons were electrocuted in Janindapal village under Tomka police station limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Friday morning.
The victims have been identified as Neetu Marandi (32), head teacher at Raighati Government Primary School under Tangiriapal police limits in Keonjhar district, and Shamsundar Marandi (45) of Chakradharpur village of the same village.
According to reports, Neetu Marandi was electrocuted while she placed wet clothes for drying on a GI wire near her house. Shamsundar rushed to help Neetu and was also electrocuted. As the news of the two deaths spread, a pall of gloom descended on the village.
Meanwhile, police sent the two bodies for post-mortem and launched an investigation into the tragic incident.
