Two Employees Of Microfinance Company Held For Rs 56 Lakh Embezzlement

Baripada: Two employees of Asirvad Microfinance company at Khunta in Mayurbhanj district have been arrested on charges of embezzling around Rs 56 lakh.

The two employees have been identified as Branch Head Diptiranjan Mohapatra and Additional Branch Head Ramakrishna Barik.

Reportedly, after senior officials of the company came to know of massive fraud in its Khunta branch, Regional Manager Manoj Jena lodged a complaint at Khunta Police Station.

According to the complaint, Mohapatra and Barik took more than Rs 23 lakh cash from the company’s account and 860 grams of gold jewellery amounting to more than Rs 29 lakh.

Based on the complaint, police conducted a probe and arrested Mohapatra and Barik. The investigation in the case is still underway.
