Sonepur: Two friends were killed in a road mishap on Monday morning in Katapali village under Binika police limits of Odisha’s Subarnapur district.
The deceased youths have been identified as Rajendra Barik (38) and Sachit Padhan (25).
According to reports, the two friends were on their way to Lachhipur on a bike and were hit by another bike from the rear when they were in Katapali village. Locals rushed the critically injured Rajendra and Sachit to Binika hospital where the doctors pronounced Rajendra ‘brought dead’.
As Sachita Pradhan’s health condition was critical, he was referred to the VIMSAR hospital at Burla in Sambalpur district. However, he also succumbed to his injuries on the way.
On being informed, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
The body of Rajendra Barik has been kept at the Binika hospital, while Sachit’s body has been kept at the Burla hospital.
Rajendra was married and he has two children. Further investigation into the accident is underway.
