Bolangir: In a significant development, Bolangir police arrested two persons on Saturday, including the boyfriend of Plus 2 student Seshadri Nag, whose body was recently found at her home. The murder weapon used to kill the female student has also been confiscated by police.
Milan Rana, Seshadri’s lover, and a friend were apprehended. Milan Rana is 21 years old. Another one of Milan’s associates is said to be missing. Seshadri’s body was discovered on Thursday at her home in the Nikhil Nagar slum area, lying in a pool of blood with her throat sliced. On the day of the tragedy, a doll was discovered next to the girl’s body.
According to police sources, Seshadri and Milan had been dating for the previous four years. Seshadri didn’t want it, though. After conducting a preliminary inquiry into the event, Bolangir police requested assistance from Rayagada police and Government Railway Police (GRP) to apprehend Milan from Vijayawada as he attempted to elude capture by train and flee to another state.
The crime scene was reconstructed by Bolangir police after Milan and one of his pals were taken into custody. The issue is still being investigated further.
“We conducted the investigation as per Bolangir SP’s directions. We looked at the deceased’s smartphone, which she had been using to talk to her boyfriend. We caught the culprit off a train with the assistance of Rayagada police and GRP when he tried to run after we obtained solid evidence from the chat,” according to Bolangir SDPO Tophan Bag.
