Baripada: Police have arrested two individuals, including the prime accused, in connection with the armed robbery at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Bahalda on February 20, where ₹20 lakh was looted at gunpoint.
The accused, identified as Pappu alias Rajeev Ranjan Kumar and Santosh alias Pramod Bind, were apprehended from Patna district, Bihar, with the assistance of the Special Task Force (STF) and Bihar Police.
Police recovered ₹14 lakh from Pappu and ₹1.19 lakh from Santosh.
“In the February 20 Bahalda SBI dacoity case, we have arrested the main accused, Pappu alias Rajeev Ranjan Kumar, and co-accused Santosh alias Pramod Bind from Patna with Bihar Police’s support. We have seized ₹14 lakh from Pappu and ₹1.19 lakh from Santosh. They will be produced before the court, and efforts are ongoing to nab the remaining accused,” said Varun Guntupalli, Superintendent of Police (SP), Mayurbhanj, during a press briefing on Tuesday.
