Bhubaneswar: Two persons were killed as a car crashed into a mango tree on the Nandapur-Padua Road in Koraput district late Thursday night.
The deceased, including the driver, were identified as Laba Khara from Golur village and Anant Pangi from Khudub village.
According to reports, the vehicle which was traveling from Nandapur to Padua lost control and collided with the tree near Ambaguda. The impact was severe, leaving the car badly damaged and the occupants trapped inside.
Nandapur Fire Department personnel, led by ASO Hemant Kumar Samal and Prakash Kisan, rushed to the scene and rescued the injured. They broke the car’s windows to free the trapped occupants and shifted them to Nandapur Community Health Centre. However, they were declared dead at Nandapur Community Health Centre (CHC).
