Dhenkanal/ Boudh: Two persons were killed and five injured in two separate road mishaps in Odisha’s Dhenkanal and Boudh districts in the last 24 hours.
In the first incident, a man and his nephew died in a road accident near Bandania village under Kankdahad police station limits in the Dhenkanal district. The deceased have been identified as Dugu Mankdia and his nephew Siddhant Mankdia.
According to reports, the two were going to Kamakshanagar on their two-wheeler on Friday to pay the installment of their vehicle. Dugu Mankdia, who was riding the two-wheeler, lost the balance of the vehicle and crashed against a roadside tree.
Local people rushed them to Kamakshanagar Medical Center but the doctor there declared both the victims as ‘brought dead’.
In the second incident, a police van overturned near Samant Bauriyor in Boudh district on Thursday injuring five policemen, including a Sub-Inspector (SI). The five injured were admitted to Boudh General Hospital in critical condition.
The five policemen of Subalaya police station in Bimharajpur block of Boudh were returning to the police station after patrolling duty in Tathamau. Meanwhile, the driver lost control of the wheels, and the vehicle overturned after crashing against a tree.
