Bhawanipatna: Two persons were killed after a BMW car rammed into the rear of a Hyva truck on the Bhawanipatna bypass road in Kalahandi district late on Friday night.
The deceased have been identified as Gautam Nayak of the Dharamgarh area and Pintu Bagh of Titlagarh in Balangir district. Their bodies were recovered from the mangled remains of the vehicle and sent for post-mortem examination.
According to reports, the luxury car collided with the truck from behind, causing severe damage to the BMW. Both occupants sustained critical injuries and died on the spot.
The BMW bore registration number HR 26 CB 5384, indicating that it was registered in Haryana, while the Hyva truck carried registration number OD 18 G 4932.
On being informed, personnel from Bhawanipatna Sadar Police Station reached the spot, recovered the bodies, and initiated an investigation into the incident.
