Puri: Two persons were killed in a road accident here on wee hours of Sunday. The incident took place when a truck coming from Satpada rammed into a tree near Haldia chowk. The driver and a passenger sustained serious injuries and succumbed on their way to the hospital.
The accident was so severe that the fire service personnel had to use cutters to rescue the seriously injured duo, but they could not survive the collision. Bramhagiri police have registered a case and seized the vehicle. Low visibility or the driver falling asleep could have led to the mishap, the police said.
