Two Killed In Separate Train Mishaps In Odisha

Angul/Cuttack: Two persons were killed in separate train-related mishaps in Angul and Cuttack districts of Odisha on Monday.

A doctor was killed after falling off a moving train at Boinda Railway Station in Angul. The deceased was identified as former Medicine Specialist of Capital Hospital, Dr Kulamani Samal.

Reportedly, he was boarding the Sainagar Shirdi Puri Express to reach Bhubaneswar when the train started to move. Subsequently, he lost his balance and fell off the train onto the tracks and was dragged for few hundred metres.

As a result, Dr Samal was killed at the spot. In absence of any family members present on the scene, his body was kept in custody of the Railway Protection Force at Boinda Railway Station.

An employee of Football Association of Odisha was killed after he jumped off a moving train in Cuttack.

Reportedly, the deceased identified as Muna Barik (32) of Cuttack had tried to board a train to Berhampur with his friend Rabi Jena. While Barik was able to catch the train, Jena was left out.

When he found Jena had not boarded the train, Barik jumped from the running train. As a result of which, his body was severed from under his stomach.

It was after an on duty RPF saw the situation he dialled 182 ambulance and sent the body to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
