Ganjam: Two people were run over by an unidentified speeding car while they were waiting for a bus at the Podamari bus stand under Pattapur police limits in Ganjam district in the early hours of Wednesday. Both died on the spot, while another pedestrian was critically injured in the mishap. According to reports they were all waiting for a bus to travel to Bhubaneswar.
The deceased have been identified as Niru Mohanty of Ramachandrapur and Simanchal Pradhan of the Podamari area. The victims were rushed to the Digapahandi hospital where the doctors declared Niru and Simanchal ‘brought dead’. The condition of the third victim is said to be critical.
Meanwhile, Pattapur police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. A manhunt is on to nab the driver of the killer vehicle and seize the car.
