Bhubaneswar: Two youths were killed and another was critically injured in a road accident near Mandarada under Digapahandi police station limits in Ganjam district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Rahul Nayak (27) and Kedar Naik (26), both residents of Banamali village. The injured person is undergoing treatment.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the motorcycle on which the three were travelling lost control and rammed into a roadside tree near Mandarada. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving all three riders seriously injured.
Locals rushed to the spot immediately after the accident and informed the fire services. Firefighters reached the scene promptly, rescued the victims, and shifted them to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Patrapur. However, doctors declared Rahul and Kedar dead on arrival.
The critically injured man was later referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur after his condition deteriorated.
