Jajpur: Two people were killed and a pregnant woman was injured on Thursday when a tanker collided with a bike near Baruhaan Chhak under Sadar police station limits in Jajpur district.
The deceased include a young man and an elderly woman.
The deceased young man has been identified as Sudarshan Behera, while the injured pregnant woman has been identified as Purnima Behera.
However, the identity of the deceased elderly woman has not been established. The deceased hail from Sana Baruhaan village.
According to reports, the accident occurred near Baruhaan intersection of National Highway no. 20 when the three who were travelling on a bike were hit by a tanker.
While the elderly woman died on the spot, Sudarshan and Purnima were rushed to the district headquarters hospital here.
Sudarshan died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Condition of Purnima, the pregnant woman is stated to be critical and she has been admitted to the district headquarters hospital here.
