Baripada: Two persons were killed and one was severely injured in a collision between two scooters near the Singada Mahadev Temple area under Raruan Police Station in Mayurbhanj district, on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Batram Gagarai and Ratan Kumar, while the identity of the injured person has not been confirmed yet.
According to reports, Batram and Ratan were running an errand when the incident occurred. As they were traveling on the Karanjia-Singada road, a scooter coming from the opposite direction, carrying two passengers, collided with them near the Singada Mahadev Temple.
Both Batram and Ratan died at the scene, while one of the passengers from the opposite scooter was severely injured.
Locals quickly rushed to the scene and took the injured person to Karanjia sub-divisional hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving the information, the Raruan Police arrived at the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
