Bolangir/ Mayurbhanj: Two persons were killed and two others injured in separate road mishaps in Odisha on Friday morning.
One person died and two others sustained critical injuries after they were hit by an unidentified vehicle near Dabugaon in the Patnagarh area of Balangir district today. The injured were shifted to Burla and Balangir Medical College and Hospital. The trio was returning home on a bike after attending Sohala Prahari Puja when the accident took place.
In the second accident, a youth had a watery grave in the Khairi-Bandan river in the Ramtirtha crocodile project area under Jashipur police station limits in the Mayurbhanj district Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Subas Mahant of Majhigaon village under the Badam-Pahad police station limits in the district.
According to reports, Subas was going to meet a girl and propose marriage at Bada-Jhunipani village when he fell into the river. He drowned and washed away.
On being informed by eyewitnesses, the Jashipur police and fire personnel reached the spot and started a rescue operation. They only fished out the body of Subas.
Police have registered an unnatural death case and started an investigation after sending the body for post-mortem.
