Two Labourers Die After Being Hit By Railway Engine Near Rayagada Rly Station

Rayagada: Two workers engaged in the under-construction railway track were crushed to death by a railway engine between Singhpur Road and Rayagada Road railway stations on Wednesday late at night during a speed maker trial engine test.

The deceaseds have been identified as Amisirao Pulaka and Shivana Kadraka.

According to reports, the deceaseds were hit by a train passing through the third railway track near Pole No 335 at Devdalguda. Both victims were residents of the Devdalguda village under Chandili police limits.

The two workers were resting sitting on the railway track when a speed-maker trial engine hit them, killing them on the spot. A chaotic scene prevailed at the accident site as other workers demanded adequate compensation to the next of kin of the deceaseds.
