Bhubaneswar: Two active members of Maoist cadres of the DKSZC under the South Bastar Division surrendered before the Malkangiri SP in Odisha on Friday and vowed to return to the mainstream of society. The two ultras are Kadti Hura alias Samir alias Sanjay and Ganfa Kartami alias Ganga – both natives of Chhattisgarh.
Kadti Hura joined the banned CPI (Maoist) party in 2001 as the militia of Kistaram AC under the South Bastar Division. In 2002, he was promoted to the rank of party member of the same AC and in 2004 he was again promoted to the rank of ACM and was given charge of the supply team of the same AC. In 2014, he left the party due to ill health and joined the RPC/DAKMS in 2022. Kadti has been working as president of DAKMS in his village Burkulanka and actively participated in many Naxal activities.
He was carrying a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh as ACM and Rs 1 lakh as president of DAKMS announced by the Government of Chhattisgarh.
Ganga Kartami joined the banned CPI (Maoist) party in 2001 as the militia of Konta AC under the South Bastar Division. In 2007, he was promoted to the rank of party member of the same AC. In 2012, he was again promoted to the rank of ACM of the same AC and also took charge of president DAKMS Konta area. In 2019, he left the party due to family problems.
Ganga carried a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh as ACM and Rs 1 lakh as president of DAKMS announced by the Government of Chhattisgarh.
