Ganjam: Two men were killed after being run over by a truck while they were on their way to lodge a complaint at the local police station in Ganjam district on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Ram Goud and Krushna Nayak of Chadheiapalli village under Jagannath Prasad police limits of the district.

Reportedly, the two were friends of one Kanhu Charan Goud of their village who had bought two trucks from a businessman Tuku Padhi on loan. However, Tuku had not handed over the documents to Kanhu even after clearing the loan.

Both the parties had lodged separate complaints against each other and the matter was even sub-judice in the Orissa High Court. However, on getting information that Kanhu has brought an order from the Bhanjanagar Court for possession of the vehicles, Tuku arrived at the former's house and threatened Kanhu while hurling abuses at him.

Following it, Ram and Krushna were rushing to the local police station to lodge a complaint when they were hit by the truck. It has been alleged that they were killed by Tuku and his associates. While police have seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem, Tuku and his gang are absconding after the incident.
