Two Minor Girls Drown In Nagavali River In Rayagada

Rayagada: In a tragic incident, two minor girls on Friday drowned to death while bathing in the Nagavali River in the Sanachandili area of Rayagada district.

The deceased minor girls have been identified as Anu Abdul and Hemabati Suna. While Anu was 10 years old, Hemabati was 11.

According to reports, Anu and Hemabati of Mahimapada of Sanachandili, who were friends after returning from school, had gone to take a bath in the Nagavali River when the tragedy occurred.

Though Anu was rescued by the locals and rushed to a nearby hospital, she was declared dead by the attending doctors.

Hemabati’s body was fished out of the river by Fire Service personnel.
